CNC Turner / Setter Operator – Doosan Puma (Newcastle)

Location: Wallsend, Tyne & Wear (NE28)
Job type: Permanent, full-time
Salary: £16.00 per hour (overtime at time and a half when available)
Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:30pm, Friday 7:30am–12:30pm

The opportunity

ABS Talent is recruiting a CNC Turner (Setter/Operator) on behalf of a well-established drilling equipment manufacturer in the Newcastle area. With over 20 years in the industry and a reputation as one of the UK's leading drilling equipment suppliers, our client manufactures high-quality casings, subs and drilling tools — and is continuing to invest in and expand its workshops.

This is a great opportunity for a capable CNC turner to join a busy, growing manufacturing team, with an early finish every Friday.

The role

• Setting and operating CNC turning machines — Doosan Puma
• Producing precision-machined components (casings, subs and drilling tools)
• Working to engineering drawings and required tolerances
• Carrying out quality checks on machined components
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work area

About you

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner / Setter / Operator
• Experience on Doosan (or similar) CNC lathes
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Quality-focused with good attention to detail
• Reliable, motivated and a good team player
