Job Description:

SMS – Smart Manufacturing Solutions is currently recruiting an experienced Counterbalance and Bendi Forklift Driver to join one of our clients based in Sunderland. This is a great opportunity to work in a structured, well-organised environment with consistent shifts.

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of the logistics team, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials across the site. Your duties will include:

• Operating a counterbalance forklift safely
• Loading and unloading goods (goods-in and line-side)
• Picking, packing, and scanning materials using RF scanners
• Creating and completing transfer orders
• Checking deliveries against paperwork
• Stacking and storing containers correctly
• Maintaining FIFO and stock accuracy
• Supporting stock takes when required
• Carrying out daily checks and basic upkeep of MHE
• Following SOPs, risk assessments, and safe working practices
• Keeping work areas clean, organised, and to 5S standards
• Reporting any issues or concerns promptly
• Being flexible to support different logistics tasks when needed

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in a similar forklift/logistics role
• A valid external Counterbalance Forklift Licence ( essential)
• A Valid external Bendi License (preferred)
• A strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork
• Reliable timekeeping and a positive work attitude

Shift Times

• Day Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday to Friday
• Back Shift: 4:00pm – 12:00am, Monday to Friday
