Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to join a main contractor in County Durham to oversee the delivery of an external refurbishment programme across occupied social housing properties

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day delivery of refurbishment works across multiple properties.
• Coordinate subcontractors, trades, materials and deliveries.
• Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with the programme.
• Maintain excellent health, safety and environmental standards.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure all works meet specification and quality requirements.
• Carry out regular site inspections and quality checks.
• Identify and resolve construction issues quickly and effectively.
• Monitor progress and report against programme targets.
• Liaise with the Contracts Manager, client representatives, housing teams and other stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports and project documentation.
• Ensure properties and communal areas are left clean, safe and secure.
• Help minimise disruption to residents throughout the works.
• Deal professionally with resident queries and escalate issues where appropriate.
• Ensure subcontractors comply with company and client policies and procedures.

Experience Required:

• Proven experience as a Site Manager within social housing refurbishment, planned maintenance or external works.
• Experience working on occupied residential properties.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety requirements and construction legislation.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• A strong understanding of quality control and programme management.
• The ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and schedules.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent resident and client-facing skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities across multiple properties.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid are essential

Remuneration

• £28.00 per hour
