As a Sociology Graduate, you may work as a:

• Learning Mentor
• Teaching Assistant
• Behaviour Support Assistant
• Pastoral Support Assistant
• SEND Teaching Assistant
• Inclusion Support Assistant
• Student Wellbeing Mentor

You'll gain invaluable experience by:

• Supporting students on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
• Building positive relationships that promote confidence and engagement.
• Supporting pupils with SEND, Autism (ASC), ADHD and SEMH needs.
• Helping students overcome barriers to learning.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional resilience.
• Working alongside teachers, pastoral teams and SEND professionals.
• Promoting inclusion and student wellbeing throughout the school day.
• Supporting students to achieve their academic and personal goals.

Every day provides an opportunity to positively influence young people while developing skills that are highly sought after across education and social care professions.

• A degree in Sociology or a related subject.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A calm, proactive and adaptable approach.
• Excellent relationship-building abilities.
• Resilience, empathy and professionalism.
• Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.
