Job Description:

We are seeking a Supply Chain Coordinator for our engineering client in Newcastle.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in procurement, logistics or supply chain who is highly organised and enjoys working in a fast-paced, international environment.

The role will involve supporting the supply chain function, ensuring the efficient supply of equipment, spares and services to customers worldwide. Some UK and overseas travel will be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders, supplier quotations, pricing and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate freight forwarding, imports/exports and customs clearance.
• Manage the movement of ship spares and equipment, including bonded goods.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance.
• Resolve delivery, pricing and supply issues efficiently.
• Maintain accurate supply chain, procurement and logistics records and produce reports.
• Ensure supply chain activities comply with company policies, contractual requirements and relevant legislation.
• Support continuous improvement across procurement, logistics and supply chain processes.

Skills & Experience

• Experience in supply chain, procurement or logistics; marine/shipping experience would be advantageous.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with SAGE or similar systems is desirable.
• A proactive, practical and problem-solving approach.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance.

Desirable Experience

• International freight forwarding and customs.
• Ship spares in transit and bonded goods.
• Supplier performance, cost and delivery management.
• UK Public Sector Procurement Legislation and customs regulations.
